Successful test of adsorber technology in the Netherlands

What the adsorber technology is, what a slipstream test involves, and what a conditioning period means. Every site-specific figure - flow, inlet, outlet, dates and host - is marked for Krajete to supply.

The technology

Krajete is an Austrian gas-purification specialist: industrial gas sampling and analysis, and regenerative NOx removal. The NOx units are zeolite adsorbers working at ambient temperature, with no ammonia, no catalysts, no process water and no reagents; gentle heat regenerates the adsorbent for reuse. Pilot units cover 50 to 18,000 m3/h and are slipstream-ready.

What a slipstream test is

A slipstream test takes a small side stream of gas from a duct while the plant runs. The unit meets real gas, not a synthetic mixture. [NEEDS KRAJETE: which plant in the Netherlands, which industry, and whether it may be named or stays under NDA] [NEEDS KRAJETE: the exact dates of the campaign] [NEEDS KRAJETE: which duct was tapped and its composition - NO/NO2, O2, CO2, water, dust, SOx - plus flow in Nm3/h, gas temperature and pressure at the tap] [NEEDS KRAJETE: measured inlet NOx, how much it moved, and which analysers or method gave the readings] [NEEDS KRAJETE: measured outlet values and removal, plus written clearance from the host to publish them]

Conditioning

Zeolites adsorb water as well as NOx, and the two compete for the same sites, so a bed that has just gone on gas is not yet in balance with it. Units that cycle between loading and regeneration need several cycles to reach a repeatable state, so early and later readings are not the same measurement. [NEEDS KRAJETE: how long the unit was on gas, how many adsorption and regeneration cycles it ran, how it behaved on day 1 and day 2, and when the outlet became steady]

From test to full scale

A finished campaign feeds a design basis: the conditions and duties an engineered unit is sized for. Krajete delivers to pilot scale; full scale is built by the client's engineering partner, with Krajete supplying design basis, media and licence.
